Pelicans' McCollum to Miss Chicago Game with Injury

Pelicans' CJ McCollum will be sidelined when they face the Chicago Bulls on Friday due to an injury.
The Pelicans announced the injury on Thursday, but did not disclose the nature or severity of the issue. McCollum is expected to be reevaluated on a day-to-day basis. The 31-year-old McCollum is averaging 20.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game this season. He is one of the Pelicans' most important players and his absence will be a blow to their chances of winning. The Pelicans are currently 30-27 and in eighth place in the Western Conference. They are one game ahead of the Sacramento Kings for the final play-in spot. The Bulls are 29-28 and in 10th place in the Eastern Conference. They are two games behind the Miami Heat for the final play-in spot. The Pelicans and Bulls will tip off at 8 p.m. ET on Friday night in Chicago.
